BPU Moves Ahead to Add Offshore Wind Capacity

June 29, 2018 – The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities is moving ahead quickly with the plan to bring 1,100 megawatts of offshore wind capacity. On Friday, June 29th, after a special Board meeting, the BPU announced that it had chosen a consulting firm to help create an Offshore Wind Strategic Plan. In addition, it announced that it will hold a public hearing on the funding mechanism for the offshore wind renewable energy certificate program (“OREC”) related to this initiative on July 19, 2018, at 10:00 AM at the Mercer County Community College in West Windsor.
