MIDDLETOWN MICROGRID PUBLIC MEETING

Middletown Township announced the second public information meeting on its Microgrid Feasibility Study:

When: Thursday, September 27th, 7-9 PM

Where: Middletown Library, 55 New Monmouth Road, Middletown, NJ 07748

Following Hurricane Irene and Superstorm Sandy, the NJ Board of Public Utilities saw the need to improve resilience for our electric grid system. As part of this effort is the push for microgrids, which have proven to be instrumental in providing much needed power to critical facilities following storms and emergencies. Middletown is 1 of 13 towns in New Jersey to have received funding last year from the BPU to conduct a feasibility study for a microgrid. Results of this study that has been conducted over the past few months will be revealed at the meeting this Thursday. I encourage all interested individuals to come to this meeting.
