Raritan Bay Gas Pipeline - Round 2

July 22, 2019 - The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection denied the permit applications for the Raritan Bay gas pipeline project by Williams Companies on June 5, 2019. Unfortunately, the NJ DEP did not deny the permits with prejudice which left the door open for Williams to reapply - which they did on June 10, 2019. This started a new period for public comments which has a deadline of August 2, 2019.

Do Now - It is very important that you submit a comment to NJ DEP - urging them to deny the permits permanently. Please also ask the NJ DEP to extend the comment period by 30 days and to hold a public hearing in the Bayshore area. See sample comment letter:

Send the comment to joslin.tamagno@dep.nj.gov and steve.olivera@dep.nj.gov.

Share with family, friends and neighbors and ask them to do the same (and sign our petition if they have not done so).

In addition to the information in our petition, see also Clean Ocean Action’s "Say No Nese” for more details and their action alert: http://cleanoceanaction.org/index.php?id=866
