They’re Back! Hazlet - NJ Natural Gas Regulator Station
Nov. 4, 2020 – Back in February, before the COVID-19 pandemic hit, NJ Natural Gas started their process before the Hazlet Land Use Board for approval of their application for an industrial gas regulator station in a residential area near Route 36 on South Laurel Ave.
As previously reported, NJ Natural Gas chose this site, about 40 feet from one house and very close to other residential houses, despite the fact that an industrial zone was close by and would be more appropriate for the industrial regulator station in question.
The hearing was probably noted more for questions unanswered than information provided to truly evaluate the need for the facility. A similar proposal was denied twice by Holmdel Township but NJ Natural Gas is currently appealing the decision with the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities.
The second hearing for that Hazlet application is now on the agenda for the next Land Use Board meeting scheduled for:
